The famous Bengali litterateur Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay was one of the many eminent personalities to have hailed from the district of Birbhum. He belonged to a Zamindar (Feudal Lord) family and they had a Kachhari or Court House. The Museum showcases many articles like Tarashankar’s pictures, spectacles, pens, chairs and other small things that belonged the novelist. lt also has some rare unseen sculptures and paintings created by Tarashankar which is remotely known to people at large.
